How to adjust the controls for who may view the details of your account profile.
By default all new cv database accounts are set to be viewable by all site visitors - this is the "open" part of our name the Open CV Database! It is therefore up to CV PLacer members or anyone other signed up user to control their visibility on the site, hence here is how you can manage your privacy settings
- Login To Your CV Database Account -

- Using your account management links - click on the "Settings" link;
- This brings you to some vital basic account management tools
- Click on the tab marked "Privacy" - this brings you to your page which controls who can view what in your cv database account:
- At the bottom of the list you will see the line "Who can view my profile" - offering you the options to allow:
- Everyone
- Friends - who are 'signed up' members - such as employers or recruiters
- You will note that we have provided controls for managing prinacy on who can view your:
- Images Portfolio
- Video Portfolio
- Sound Clips
- Your friends
- Your Gifts
- Your Blogs
- Requests to Chat With You
- View Your Guestbook
Members would bear in mind that, the principle idea behind and open cv database is one of promoting yourself to potential employers, recruiters and candidates - so think carefully about limiting that potential.
However, we also do understand the need for privacy in the recruitment and hiring process. Employers and professional Recruiters are more likely to have an entirely "Open" CV Database account.
